VIRGINIA BURIAL RECORDS

(From the Confederate Cemetery, University of Virginia).

(1) In memory of Benj. F. Windham, 11th Mississippi Reg., Company F.
Born in Alabama, 21 August, 1838. Died at Charlottesville, 19 July,
1862. He died for the “Lost Cause.”

(2) L. M. Riser, Brown’s Rebels, 18 Reg. Miss. Vols. Died 1 August,
1861. Aged 22 years, 3 months and 5 days.

(3) J. T. Cason, born 22 January, 1823. Died 23 May, 1862. 9th La.
Regt., Capt. G. Cook.

(4) Thos. T. Thornton, Private, Co. S., 31 Ga. Gordon’s Brigade.
Wounded at the Wilderness, 5 May, 1864. Died 1864. Erected by his
captain.

(5) Leonard, son of Hope and Hannah Sims, Born 18 June, 1820. Died 20
July, 1864.

(6) J. F. Russell, Co. D, Phillips’ Legion, Ga. Vol. Cav. Batt. Died
25 January, 1863.

(7) Seth M. Sloan, son of J. F. & M. E. Sloan. Born 30 August, 1840.
Died 22 September, 1862, Holcombe’s Legion, S. C.

(8) John S. Kelso, Co. G, 1st Reg., Tenn. Vol. Wounded at
Charlottesville, 3 May. Died in Richmond, 5 June, 1863.
